The recent opening of a manufacturing plant in Texas signifies the growth of Glidepath’s North American business.
Experts in automated and secure baggage handling systems, Glidepath has completed over 350 projects in more than thirty countries.
Glidepath’s products and systems are not only more efficient, they’re more secure, meeting and exceeding the stringent new standards required for airport baggage control. Following the September 11 attacks, over 400 US airports were issued a US Homeland Security mandate requiring all passenger baggage to be screened before the aircraft is boarded. By January 2006 all airports in the world will be required to screen baggage.
The purchase of the 22,000 square foot manufacturing complex in Texas complements Glidepath’s consulting offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Dallas / Fort Worth, Santiago Chile, Australia and New Zealand.
Glidepath’s most recent North American project was the development of a fully automated baggage handling and security screening system at Boise Airport Terminal.
Boise Airport manager John Anderson claimed the system was a US market leader in homeland security. "The system is the most technologically advanced baggage handling and security screening system in operation in the US," he said in his speech at the opening ceremony.
The new system integrates an in-line screening loop with diversions to five CT scanner explosive detection machines. All bags will pass through at least one of the screening machines. Once cleared, the bags are then diverted to the loop for sorting, while any suspect bags are redirected round the screening loop to the electronic trace detection machines for Level 4 and 5 screening.
