Right Hemisphere 3D technology added to Adobe Acrobat

01 March 2005

Right Hemisphere recently announced it licensed its 3D viewing technology, Deep View, to software company Adobe Systems for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader 7.0 software.

Deep View allows users to view 3D content. The software unlocks industrial 3D content trapped in CAD systems and transforms it into a universal, lightweight format that can be embedded in PDF documents.

The technology will enhance the use of PDF documents for visual communications including interactive training, technical documentation, and marketing communications.

"This is the beginning of a strong relationship with Adobe to make 3D data as easy to use as text is today," said Mark Thomas, president and CTO of Right Hemisphere, a New Zealand-owned company based in California.

"Adobe is the leader in document distribution technology and 3D is a natural extension of their widely used electronic document format, PDF. Right Hemisphere's technology combined with Adobe PDF helps enterprises leverage their existing CAD data for wider distribution of technical documentation, online catalogues and training and marketing material,” says Mark Thomas.
