About Kevin
Kevin works with domestic agencies and companies to provide opportunities for investors that bring complementary expertise and capability to the biotechnology industry. Through strategic relationships with global commercial partners, he seeks to provide international opportunities for New Zealand bio-based innovation. Kevin is based in Auckland.

Background and expertise
Previously, Kevin worked with clinical cell transplant programmes and helped develop genetic diagnostics in a private biotech company. He has biomedical research experience leading pre-clinical programmes in neuroscience (vaccine discovery), human genomics, and cancer.
Kevin holds a PhD in Experimental Medicine from McGill University, and completed postdoctoral training in Translational Neuroscience and Functional Genomics at the University of Auckland. Kevin joined New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's Investment team in 2007.

About Michelle
Michelle leads New Zealand Trade and Enterprise’s investment attraction work in biotechnology and the bio-economy. She works directly with international companies that have a strategic fit with New Zealand to assist them to create wealth that benefits both their business and the New Zealand economy. She is responsible for developing the team’s strategy and delivering long term economic benefits to New Zealanders through investment attraction. Michelle is based in Auckland.
Background and expertise
Michelle’s experience includes working as a scientist to identify drug targets for the common fungal pathogen Candida albicans. She has also worked in environmental consultancy in Auckland and lectured in environmental engineering at Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT). Within government she has worked at the Health Research Council leading the creation of cross-government research initiatives to address a range of human health and environmental issues. She has held a range of positions within NZTE and worked in Auckland, London and New York.
Michelle has tertiary qualifications in Biochemistry from the University of Otago and holds a PhD in Protein Biochemistry from Massey University. Michelle joined NZTE’s Investment team in 2003.
